ANDERSONVILLE — Hopleaf has received the Michelin's Bib Gourmand designation for the seventh time.

The beloved Andersonville watering hole and restaurant at 5148 N. Clark St. was one of 54 neighborhood locations on the list of restaurants where diners can enjoy a great meal for a decent price. Hopleaf also received the designation last year.

"We are always delighted and frankly humbled to be chosen. We are not a 'hot' new place. We've been around for 25 years now, and it is easy to slip off the radar. It is also easy to get lazy and let standards slip. We work hard to not let that happen and are happy that the Michelin people noticed our efforts," owner Michael Roper said. "I am very proud of that and proud of our staff for making it possible."

Nearby restaurants Jin Thai Cuisine, 5458 N. Broadway, and Herb, 5424 N. Broadway, also made the list for the last two years.

Michelin will announce recipients of its highly coveted stars on Friday.
