THE LOOP — Taco Bell is opening yet another restaurant Downtown, this one inside a shuttered Red Robin.

A building permit shows the fast food chain is coming to 178 N. Wabash Ave. near Lake Street.

It's at least the third new restaurant Downtown for Taco Bell, which is making a big push into Chicago.

A Taco Bell Cantina with alcoholic slushies opened late last month at 205 E. Ohio St. in Streeterville. Another cantina is in the works at 407 S. Dearborn St. in the Loop.

A spokeswoman for the Irvine, Calif.-based chain previously told DNAinfo that Taco Bell plans to open four new cantinas in Chicago by early next year.

It's unclear when the new Taco Bell on Wabash will open, or whether it will serve drinks. A Connecticut woman listed as the owner of the new Taco Bell deferred questions to the chain's corporate office, which didn't return messages seeking comment.

The new Taco Bell will open after Red Robin closed all of its Downtown restaurants last year.
