CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man was shot dead in Archer Heights early Thursday, police said.
At 3:47 a.m., the man was sitting inside a car in the 4900 block of South Komensky Avenue, waiting for a friend he was picking up, police said. The friend heard shots from outside and found the man fatally wounded inside the car.
The man had been shot in his neck and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Andres Pina, of suburban Palos Hills, was pronounced dead at 3:54 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
