CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was gunned down in Garfield Park on Friday afternoon, police said.
At 1:15 p.m., the man was walking in the 3200 block of West Maypole Avenue when someone in a dark-colored car shot at him, police said. The man was hit in his head and chest and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Adonis Johnson, of the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:48 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The shooting was possibly gang-related, a police source said.
