CHICAGO — A 25-year-old woman died after a Metra train hit her car in Norwood Park Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
An inbound train hit her car just before 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 5700 block of North Nagle Avenue, according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller.
As a result of the crash, trains were stopped "for the better part of an hour," Miller said.
No Metra passengers were hurt, according to Chicago Fire Department officials.
Union Pacific Police are investigating the incident, according to Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.
