Englewood Shooting Kills Man

CHICAGO — A 31-year-old man was gunned down in Englewood on Tuesday night, police said.

At 9:48 p.m., the man was with a group of people standing outside in the 7000 block of South Carpenter Street when a man walked up to them and fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his back and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man was identified as Anthony Henry, of the 5600 block of South Halsted Street, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office documents. Henry was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m.

The shooting was possibly gang-related, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
