BRIDGEPORT — The Co-Prosperity Sphere will hold a one-day symposium Thursday on the state of the archive.
Hosted by the School of the Art Institute's Video Data Bank, the forum will look at alternative archive methods, how they are made, managed and how they fit into art and culture. The Video Data Bank has for more than 40 years housed an archive of alternative video art, and officials with the video bank will lead discussions on the topic.
The co-founder of Brooklyn-based alt-archive Interference Archive, Josh MacPhee, will be the keynote speaker. It will run from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday at the Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St.
