EVERGREEN PARK — Officials with Little Company of Mary Hospital announced Wednesday that the Evergreen Park-based hospital will join the Rush Health System.

The hospital at 2800 W. 95th St. will remain a Catholic hospital, according to an email sent to employees from Little Company of Mary's president and vice president.

The 272-bed community hospital with more than 2,000 employees will become the fourth hospital in the Rush system, which also includes Rush University Medical Center on the Near West Side and suburban hospitals including Rush Oak Park Hospital and Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

The Archdiocese of Chicago approved the pairing Sept. 29.

“Our sisters have been involved in a long and thoughtful discernment process, and we feel confident that aligning with Rush would allow us to continue to serve our community, as we have for nearly 90 years,” said Sister Sharon Ann Walsh, chairwoman of the Little Company of Mary board.
