By Kelly Bauer | October 3, 2017 7:52am

CHICAGO — A 61-year-old woman was seriously wounded in a shooting in North Lawndale on Monday, police said.

At 2:44 p.m., the woman was in the 700 block of South Keeler Avenue when a man in black clothing walked out of an alley and fired shots, police said.

The woman, who police did not think was the intended target, was hit in her shoulder. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition was "serious but stable," police said.

The gunman ran off after the shooting, police said. No one was in custody.
