CHICAGO — A 35-year-old man was shot to death in McKinley Park on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
At 12:15 p.m., the man was walking in the 3300 block of South Damen Avenue when someone in a green SUV drove up and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his neck and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Patrick James Stegmueller Jr., of the 11200 block of South Troy, was pronounced dead at 12:51 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The gunman drove off after the shooting, police said. No one was in custody.
