Loop Burglar Breaking Into Downtown Offices, Restaurants Overnight: Police

DOWNTOWN — A Downtown burglar has broken into three Loop businesses in the past two months, police said.

Police released photos of the suspected burglar Monday, nearly two months after the first break-in Aug. 3 in the 100 block of North Franklin Street.

Police said the burglar broke door locks overnight to get into offices or restaurants. The burglaries occurred at:

• 9:14 p.m. Aug. 3 in the 100 block of North Franklin St.

• 5:20 a.m. Aug. 6 in the first block of North Michigan Avenue

• 3:30 a.m. Sept. 24 in the first block of North Michigan Avenue

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, 25 to 30-year-old black man with black hair. In surveillance photos released by police, he is wearing a black shirt and black pants.
