WICKER PARK — Two large windows and a glass door at Native Foods Cafe were apparently smashed by men throwing bricks early Thursday.
According to a worker at the restaurant, three people standing outside the closed cafe around 2:25 a.m. threw the bricks and ran off.
A resident of a building across the street saw what happened and called police, the worker said.
Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokesman, said Shakespeare District Police responded to a call of criminal damage and "discovered the glass windows and glass door of the establishment had been broken."
Pacheco said "a citizen reported that he observed three unknown males throw bricks and flee the scene."
No one is in custody at this time.
Native Foods Cafe owners could not immediately be reached for comment. Nothing was taken from the restaurant, which opened at 1482 N. Milwaukee Ave. in 2011.
