Marques Lewis, 20, Killed In South Deering Shooting; Another Man Wounded

CHICAGO — A 20-year-old man was killed and an 18-year-old man wounded in a shooting in South Deering on Wednesday night, police said.

At 8:09 p.m., the 20-year-old was walking up to a parked car in the 2300 block of East 102nd Street when someone in a silver-colored car drove by and fired shots, police said.

The 20-year-old was hit in his abdomen. He was found in an alley and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in grave condition.

Marques Lewis, of the 10100 block of South Yates Street, was pronounced dead at 8:42 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The 18-year-old was sitting in the parked car and was shot in his torso. He was taken to Trinity Hospital in serious condition, police said.

No one was in custody.
