ARCHER HEIGHTS — Celebrate the changing of the seasons at St. Bruno School's Blocktoberfest party Saturday.

The inaugural block party and October fest celebration will be held at St. Bruno School, 4839 S. Harding Ave. from noon-9 p.m. Saturday. General admission is free, but admission to the kid zone will cost $10 before the event, $15 day of, according to organizers. The kid zone includes inflatables, face painting, games and other entertainment.

There will be plenty of food and drink sold, including a beer garden and local food trucks. Bands will play throughout the day culminating with a performance by Latin band Caliente from 5:30-9 p.m.

Bingo will also be held in the school's gymnasium, with cash prizes available.

"This is a great opportunity for the students, their families, and the members of this community to come together to celebrate our great neighborhood and have some fun in the process; [all the while] raising money for a good cause," St. Bruno Principal Colleen Schrantz said in a statement. "This is our first Blocktoberfest and we hope to do this again if it's well received."

All proceeds from the event will benefit the school. For more information, check out the event's Facebook page here.
