CHICAGO — A man died in a car crash while fleeing from police in Auburn Gresham, police said.
At 2:30 a.m., Evergreen Park Police tried to stop a driver whose car had a broken taillight, Chicago Police said. The driver sped away and the police officers did not chase it.
The driver lost control and crashed into a pole and parked semi-truck in the 1800 block of West 87th Street, police said.
A 39-year-old man who was in the car was pronounce dead at the scene, police said.
An investigation was ongoing.
