ANDERSONVILLE — Andersonville residents will have to go elsewhere for their deep dish fix.

The neighborhood Giordano's at 5207 N. Clark St. has closed as the company "consolidates our operations," according to the voicemail for the restaurant.

"The decision to close one of our restaurants was not an easy one. However, in this case, we believe that it was the right decision for Giordano’s and our customers," said spokeswoman Jessica Wenson.

"We decided to consolidate and optimize our restaurant operations so that they can serve our customers better," she said.

The voicemail for Giordano's directs residents to order from its nearby locations at 2010 W. Montrose Ave. in Lincoln Square and 6836 N. Sheridan Road in Rogers Park.

The pizza shop has white paper over its windows and signs saying "thank you for your patronage" in the window, residents said.

Employees at the restaurant were given the option to work at nearby restaurants, Wenson said.

The restaurant replaced Swedish-inspired breakfast and brunch restaurant Ann Sather. The restaurant, which was owned by Ald. Tom Tunney (44th), closed at the end of 2013.

The location opened in April 2015.

Giordano's currently has 17 restaurants in Chicago, according to its website.

Andersonville did welcome Fat Chris's Pizza and Such opened in the former home of Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant Takos Koreanos, 1706 W. Foster Ave., earlier this month.
