CHICAGO — Hundreds of students, parishioners and neighbors are expected to march through Norwood Park Sunday for Resurrection College Prep High School's 32nd annual Hunger Walk.

Together with the Norwood Park-based New Hope Community Food Pantry, 7115 W. Hood Ave., and Friendship Presbyterian Church, 6088 N. Northwest Highway, Resurrection hosts the walk every year to "raise awareness and funds to reduce hunger in the local community and throughout the world," school spokeswoman Kathleen Heneghan said.

The money raised will be split evenly among the pantry, Catholic Charities and Heifer International, Heneghan said.

Last year's walk raised more than $5,500, she added.

Walkers are asked to arrive at the school, 7500 W. Talcott Ave., by 1 p.m. Sunday, and they'll step off on a 3-mile neighborhood loop about 30 minutes later.

No registration is required for the event, Heneghan said. Participants can collect pledges leading up to the walk, or submit their donations when they arrive.
