EDGEWATER — The annual Edgewater Arts Festival is set to take over Granville Avenue this weekend, complete with local art, a beer garden, three entertainment stages and more.
From 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 100 artists will showcase a plethora of art forms including paintings, photography, hand-made jewelry, pottery, glass, fashion and other mixed-media in booths sprawled along Granville between North Broadway and Kenmore Avenue. Last year's festival drew more than 12,000 visitors, organizers said.
The festival is free, but asks for a $5 donation at the entrance.
Lagunitas will provide liquid sustenance in the beer garden, with wine and non-alcoholic beverages also available. Fireside Restaurant and Más Alla Del Sol are set to serve up food.
Twenty live performances are set to highlight a variety of music and cultural styles, including reggae, jazz, blues, funk, choral, classical, African drumming, Flamenco, cabaret and electronica.
A children's activity corner, student gallery, art classes, beading workshop and student talent show will also be among the weekend's festivities.
Pets are welcome to attend as well, with a paw print paint station set up from Bark Bark Club.
