Homan Square Block Sees 2 Shootings In Less Than 3 Hours

CHICAGO — A Homan Square block saw two shootings in less than three hours this weekend.

• At 1:49 a.m. Sunday, a 23-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 600 block of South Homan Avenue when someone in a tan-colored van fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his right leg and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

• At 11:08 p.m. Saturday, a 27-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 600 block of South Homan Avenue when someone in a dark-colored car fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his right side and right leg and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody in these shootings.
