CHICAGO — A 30-year-old man was slain in a shooting in Austin early Sunday, police said.
At 3:05 a.m., the man was in the 500 block of North LeClaire Avenue when someone in an SUV fired shots at him, police said. The man was hit in his chest and he was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.
Anthony White, of the 1400 block of South Ridgeway, was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his chest in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
