CHICAGO — Two teens have been charged with robbing an 80-year-old woman in Lincoln Park on Tuesday, police said.

The teens, who are 16 and 17 years, were identified by their family members after police released a photo of two people they said had robbed the woman, police said.

At 5:18 p.m. Tuesday, the woman was outside in the 1400 block of West Altgeld Street, walking to her home, when the two teens pushed her down and snatched her purse off her arm, police said. The thieves ran away.

The woman refused medical treatment, police said. Her purse contained money and personal items.

The teens were taken into custody, and each has been charged as a juvenile with robbing a person who is 60 or older and aggravated battery of a person who is 60 or older, police said.
