These 2 Knocked Down An 80-Year-Old Woman, Stole Her Purse, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police have released a photo of two people they said knocked down and robbed an 80-year-old woman in Lincoln Park.

At 5:18 p.m. Tuesday, the woman was outside in the 1400 block of West Altgeld Street, walking to her home, when two people walked up to her, pushed her down and snatched her purse off her arm, police said. The thieves ran away.

The woman refused medical treatment, police said. Officers searched the area but couldn't find the robbers.

One robber was described as a black or Latino man in his 20s who is 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5, police said. He had dark facial hair and wore a dark T-shirt, faded blue jeans and black gym shoes.

The other robber was described as a black man in his 20s who is 6 feet tall and wore a white tank top, faded blue jeans and white gym shoes, police said.

The woman's purse contained money and personal items, police said.
