BEVERLY — The Ridge Historical Society is seeking donations of antiques, home goods, housewares, tools, jewelry and books for its annual fundraiser.

The society's annual garage and book sale will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 29 and 30. The sale concludes Oct. 1, running 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at 10621 S. Seeley Ave.

All donations are tax-deductible, and receipts will be provided. Proceeds are used for neighborhood preservation efforts as well as the society's historical research projects. Donations of clothing will not be accepted.

Volunteers are needed to work at the sale.

"Please use this event as a great opportunity to clean attics, closets and basements of things you no longer use but that can be treasures for someone else," a posting on the society's website says.
