Garage Burglar In Mount Greenwood Looks For Unlocked Doors, Police Say

MOUNT GREENWOOD — Chicago Police have issued a community alert after a string of garage burglaries in Mount Greenwood.

The burglaries all occurred from midnight-10:30 a.m., and all of the garages were unlocked, according to police in the Morgan Park District.

The robber steals tools and electronics from within the garages. Specifically, the garages were robbed:

• On Aug. 27 in the 11100 block of South Homan Avenue

• Between Aug. 26-29 in the 11300 block of South Hamlin Avenue

• On Tuesday in the 11200 block of South Trumbull Avenue

Police recommend locking all garage doors and back gates. They also suggest locking cars kept within garages and registering all bikes online with the police department. Anyone with more information about these crimes is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8273.
