DOWNTOWN — Police released a photo of a man who allegedly pushed another man onto the CTA Blue Line tracks last month.

On Aug. 1, the 46-year-old man was waiting to board a train at the Washington station when another man approached him from behind, officials said Friday. The man pushed the victim, causing him to fall onto the tracks. He then stopped the victim from getting back onto the platform, police said.

"The offender then menaced the victim and would not allow him to climb back onto the platform until bystanders intervened and assisted the victim," a news release said.

Police said they are looking for a man who is white, 30-35 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 and 180-190 pounds. He has sandy blond hair and was wearing black or blue jeans and a light blue short sleeve shirt, officials say.
