Erik Charles Jr., 25, Shot Dead In Englewood

CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was shot and killed in Englewood on Wednesday night, police said.

At 9:44 p.m., the man was standing on a home's front porch in the 6300 block of South Carpenter Street when someone fired shots, police said.

The man was hit in his head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Erik Louis Charles Jr., of suburban Mount Prospect, was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.

No one was in custody.
