Robbers Have Struck On North Side 13 Times In 2 Weeks, Police Say

CHICAGO — Thirteen robberies have been committed by a man or group of men on the North Side since late August, police said.

During the incidents, a robber or robbers have walked up to the victims, took out a gun or hit the victims in their heads and demanded their property, according to a Chicago Police Department community alert. The robbers have run away and escaped in an older gray or silver car.

The robberies occurred at:

• 11:14 p.m. Aug. 21 in the 3500 block of West Foster Avenue

• 11:20 p.m. Aug. 24 in the 3700 block of West Cornelia Avenue

• 8:30 p.m. Aug. 29 in the 3300 block of North Troy Street

• 8:35 p.m. Aug. 29 in the 2900 block of North Francisco Avenue

• 11:05 p.m. Aug. 29 in the 3800 block of North Troy Street

• 10:45 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of West Cornelia Avenue

• 3:23 a.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of North Albany Avenue

• 11 p.m. Saturday in the 2800 block of North Seminary Avenue

• 11:25 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of West Warner Avenue

• 12:10 a.m. Sunday in the 2200 block of West Morse Avenue

• 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 3600 block of North Wolcott Avenue

• Between 2:48 a.m. and 3:02 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of West Waveland Avenue

• 11:15 p.m. Sunday in the 3300 block of North Hoyne Avenue

The robbers have been described as Latino men, 18 to 26 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with "medium builds," police said. They've worn dark, hooded sweatshirts or jackets and dark pants.
