CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was shot to death in Austin early Wednesday, police said.
At 5:17 a.m., the man was in the 5200 block of West Gladys Avenue when he confronted someone and they got into a fight, police said. During the fight, the other person took out a gun and shot the man.
The man was hit once in his head, police said.
James Posey, of the 4400 block of West Monroe, was pronounced dead at 5:27 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his neck in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
