CHICAGO — A 26-year-old woman was killed and a 34-year-old man possibly took his own life in Austin on Monday, police said.
At 6:36 p.m., the two were in the 4900 block of West Washington Boulevard when they were shot during a "domestic incident," police said. They were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
The woman was identified as Ashley Shanta-Nicole Harrison, of the 700 block of South Kenneth Avenue, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Harrison was pronounced dead at 7 p.m. and an autopsy showed she died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
The man was identified as Brian Jones, of the same block where he died, in Medical Examiner's Office records. Jones was pronounced dead at 7:10 p.m. and an autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.
No one was in custody.
