MORGAN PARK — Chicago police in the Morgan Park District are collecting donations for the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

The 22nd District CAPS Office is accepting donations of water, canned food, toiletries and more at the station at 1900 W. Monterey Ave. in Morgan Park.

The resulting floods from the hurricane have damaged hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000 people and prompted more than 13,000 rescues — mostly in south Texas.

Harvey has caused at least 48 confirmed deaths.

For more information about the effort in Morgan Park, call the CAPS office at 312-745-0620.
