DOWNTOWN — "MasterChef," a competitive cooking show, will look for stars for the new season during an open casting call Downtown.
The reality show, judged in part by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, has featured several amateur Chicago chefs. The prize for outlasting the other chefs and winning the show is usually $250,000, a trophy and a cookbook deal.
Chicago's open casting call runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at Sofitel Chicago, 20 E. Chestnut St.
Chefs should bring one prepared dish to serve to judges, and they're encouraged to pre-register online and bring a printed application to the casting call.
There will not be a kitchen to cook or warm up food and dishes and utensils for plating will not be provided. Chefs will be given three minutes to plate their meal before serving to the judges.
