Alice Cooper To Open 'Wayne's World' Screening In Millennium Park Next Week

DOWNTOWN — Rock legend Alice Cooper will open next week's free showing of "Wayne's World" in Millennium Park.

City officials announced the surprise appearance before the park's summer film series finale at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jay Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St.

Cooper will make introductory remarks and discuss his "Wayne's World" cameo before the film starts, city officials said.

Wayne and Garth, the film's protagonists played by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, famously bow in front of Cooper and declare they're "not worthy" to meet him backstage in one scene of the classic 1992 comedy about two slacker musicians from the suburbs.

"Wayne's World," rated PG-13, runs 1 hour and 35 minutes and will close out this summer's free movies in Millennium Park.
