CHICAGO — Police are looking for a man who tried to lure a 5-year-old girl with candy in Portage Park Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the 4400 block of North Laporte Avenue around 3:30 p.m., police said.
The man, who had a dog with him, walked up to the girl and touched her on the shoulder before asking her if she wanted to go with him to have candy.
The girl called out to her brother, after which the man went away.
The girl and her brother went home where her grandmother called 911.
The suspect is described as being white, 50- to 60-year-old, with gray hair and eyeglasses. He was wearing a gray T-shirt.
