CHICAGO — A firefighter was injured while battling a blaze in North Lawndale on Friday morning, officials said.
Officials were called to the fire in the 1800 block of South Avers Avenue early Monday, according to tweets from the Fire Department. The fire was put out about 5:45 a.m.
An officer had burns and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, officials said. One other person injured in the fire was also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Five people were displaced by the fire, officials said.
