OLD TOWN — Budget-conscious architecture aficionados, take note: This week is the last chance to buy reduced-price early-bird tickets for the Edgar Miller Legacy's second annual Fall Smash.

The Edgar Miller Legacy, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving and celebrating the work of the Old Town artist and architect, has set. Oct. 7 as the date for this year's Fall Smash fundraiser at the Kogen-Miller Studios, 1734 N. Wells St.

Tickets begin at $125, but they're available for $95 through Friday.

Higher levels for donors run from $500-$10,000, but the organization stresses that it "relies on the generous support of donors and sponsors to keep our lights on, pay staff, and develop new programs, tours, and events that engage a growing, diverse audience that is just coming to learn about the stunningly beautiful aesthetic and historic legacy of Edgar Miller."

The legacy threw open the courtyard of the building at 1734 N. Wells to the Old Town Art Fair garden walk this year, but only on Sunday.

Miller and his partner, Sol Kogen, were known for their "handmade homes" in the Old Town area, including the 1734 N. Wells studios, but also for the Depression-era artist enclave on Burton Place, formally affirmed as a city landmark last year.

The nascent Edgar Miller Legacy held its inaugural Fall Smash last year, and made a video of the event, including drinks, food and music.

This year's Fall Smash will run from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in the Kogen-Miller Studios.
