ARMOUR SQUARE — As the baseball season wraps up (for non contending teams, anyway), fans can get a head start on next year by buying discounted apparel at the White Sox's official team store.
The Chicago Sports Depot, located just outside Guaranteed Rate Field at 320 W. 35th St., will hold its end-of-the-year garage sale beginning Thursday and running through Sunday. The store sells apparel for all Chicago teams — even the Cubs, according to its website.
Jerseys, hats, t-shirts, jackets, novelty items and other goods will be on sale for 30-75 percent off its retail price, the team said. The sale will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday and will close an hour after the end of each game.
The sale will be held in a giant tent outside the store, and tickets are not required to shop in the tent, the team said. Fans with tickets can have them scanned at Gate 5, which is near the store, and will be able to re-enter the park to shop during the game.
