Austin Shooting Wounds 4 People, Including 2 Teens

CHICAGO — Four people, including two teen boys, were wounded during a Tuesday night shooting in Austin, police said.

At 10:40 a.m., the victims were walking in the 300 block of North Central Avenue when a black Charger drove by and someone inside the car fired shots, police said.

A 21-year-old man was hit in his left ankle and was taken to Loyola Hospital, police said. A 16-year-old boy hit in his lower back and a 14-year-old boy hit in his chest and right arm were taken to Stroger Hospital. A 22-year-old man was hit in his right leg and he took himself to West Suburban Hospital.

Conditions for the four were not available, but they were listed as "stable," police said.

The 21-year-old man, 16-year-old boy and 22-year-old man are documented gang members, a police source said.

No one was in custody.
