CHICAGO — Weekend shootings in Humboldt Park and Logan Square left five people wounded, police said.
The latest incident happened Sunday around 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of West Beach Avenue, where a 38-year-old man was shot while standing on the corner, police said.
The man was hit in his elbow and he was taken to St. Mary Hospital in good condition, police said.
The man is a documented gang member, a police source said.
On Saturday at 10 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park, police said. The man was walking in the street in the 2800 block of West Augusta Boulevard when someone got out of a Chevy and fired shots at the man.
The man was hit in his left leg and he took himself to Norwegian American Hospital. His condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
At 6:26 p.m. Saturday, a 21-year-old man and 20-year-old man were shot in Logan Square, police said. The two were walking down the street in the 2700 block of North Monticello Avenue when someone in a dark-colored SUV pulled up next to them and someone inside the car fired shots.
The 21-year-old was hit in his head and he was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, police said. The 20-year-old was hit in his left thigh and he was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital, where his condition was not available but he was listed as "stable," police said.
The attacker drove away, police said.
Around 12:20 a.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times while standing in the 1200 block of North Campbell Avenue.
No one was in custody.
