BRIDGEPORT — Neighborhood families are invited to take in the newest installment in the Star Wars franchise at McGuane Park Wednesday.

The Chicago Park District's popular Movies in the Park series is screening "Rogue One" Wednesday at McGuane Park, 2901 S. Poplar Ave. The movie is slated to begin around 8 p.m. and will last until about 10:15 p.m., according to the park district.

Neighbors are asked to bring blankets, chairs, food and anything else that might be needed to enjoy the movie. Wednesday's screening of the Star Wars feature is the last public movie screening in the neighborhood for the season.

"Rogue One," released in 2016, is a prequel to 1977's "A New Hope," where the Rebel Alliance learns of a new weapon known as the Death Star and attempts to steal the plans for the ship in order to save the galaxy.
