Remus Campbell, 32, Killed In Rogers Park Shooting; 2 Others Wounded

CHICAGO — A shooting in Rogers Park left one man dead and two others wounded early Sunday, police said.

At 4:30 a.m., the victims were standing on the sidewalk in the 7700 block of North Ashland Avenue when a Ford SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, police said.

A 32-year-old man was hit in his neck, a 23-year-old man was hit in his left hip, and a 23-year-old woman was hit in her neck, police said.

The three were taken to St. Francis Hospital, where the older man was in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead, police said.

The dead man was identified as Remus Campbell, of the 1700 block of West Juneway Terrace, in Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. Campbell was pronounced dead at 5:35 a.m.

Conditions for the two other victims were not available, but they were listed as "stable," police said.

No one was in custody.
