CHICAGO — The second Throwback Music Fest is set to bring food, music and retro costumes to the intersection of Milwaukee and Peterson avenues on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The all-female cover band The PriSSillas will headline the festival's first night on Friday, with the '90s alt rock band Gin Blossoms playing Saturday and the '80s tribute band Sixteen Candles finishing out the lineup Sunday. Woven throughout will be local artists transcending a half-century of hits, from Johnny Cash to the Backstreet Boys.

The festivities kick off Saturday with a performance by Raven Street, a classic rock cover band made up of Onahan Elementary School students.

The full lineup for all three days is listed online.

Festivalgoers will be able to stop by a beer tent and a line of food trucks, or they can test their mettle on a mechanical bull, one of last year's most popular attractions, organizers said.

A pet parade at 11 a.m. Saturday will ask participants to dress their dogs or cats in their "retro finest," with "prizes for the best costumes," organizers said.

On Sunday, the fest will host a "Miss Throwback Pin-Up Contest" judging women by their hair, makeup and "attire from the '40s, '50s and early '60s."

A vintage car show is also planned for Sunday.

The festival is free and open to the public, but the Gladstone Park Chamber of Commerce will ask for a $5 donation at the gate.

The event will be open from 4-10:30 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday.
