Stealing The Mail: Thieves Break Into 5 Mail Trucks In One Week On SW Side

CHICAGO — Thieves have broken into at least five mail trucks in and around Chicago Lawn in one week.

The thieves have gotten into the trucks and stolen items inside them, according to a Chicago Police community alert.

The thefts occurred:

• 10:21 a.m. Aug. 9 in the 3600 block of West 55th Place

• 11:20 a.m. Aug. 9 in the 3000 block of West 61st Street

• 3:36 p.m. Monday in the 5800 block of South Albany Avenue

• 10:50 a.m. Tuesday in the 3700 block of West 59th Street

• 11:25 a.m. Tuesday in the 6400 block of South Kilbourn Avenue

Anyone with information was asked to call police at 312-747-8382.
