CHICAGO — A 36-year-old man has died nearly two weeks after being shot in West Humboldt Park, officials said.
At 5:15 a.m. Aug. 3, the man was sitting in his car in the 3900 block of West Grand Avenue when a car pulled up alongside him and someone in the car fired shots at the man, police said.
The man was hit in his upper left arm and the left side of his lower back. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Ernie Gardner, of the 1400 block of East 69th Street, was pronounced dead at 2:22 a.m. Tuesday, according to Cook County Medical Examiner's Office records. An autopsy showed Gardner died from complications of multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
