CHICAGO — A 27-year-old woman was gunned down in Back of the Yards early Sunday, police said.
At 12:24 a.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of West 54th Street for a report of shots being fired, police said. They found the woman wounded and lying on the sidewalk.
The woman had been shot in her neck and legs and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Demica Porter, of the 5400 block of South Laflin, was pronounced dead at 1:13 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one was in custody.
