CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was shot to death in Austin on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
At 3 p.m., the man was standing on the sidewalk in the 100 block of South Lockwood Avenue when a car drove up and someone got out of the car and fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in multiple times and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.
Thaddeus Dean, of the 5200 block of West Washington Boulevard, was pronounced dead at 3:29 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from multiple gunshot wounds in a homicide.
The attacker got back into the car and drove away, police said, and no one was in custody.
