CHICAGO — A 51-year-old man died after a shooting in Garfield Park on Saturday, officials said.
At 11:04 a.m., the man was arguing with someone near a car in the 3300 block of West Washington Boulevard when someone fired shots, police said.
The man was hit in his head and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.
Steven Gaines, of Green Bay, Wis., was pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. An autopsy showed he died from a gunshot wound in his head in a homicide.
