LINCOLN PARK — Standard Market Grill has closed.

The massive corner restaurant on the first floor of 444 W. Fullerton Parkway closed its doors and papered over its windows Tuesday. The Lincoln Park location was abruptly removed from the Standard Market Grill website, even as it continued to tout outlets in Naperville and Westmont.

Former customers continued to amble up to the restaurant Tuesday, only to be confronted by a sign posted thanking them for their patronage, but informing them that "Standard Market Grill Lincoln Park is now closed for reconcepting."

The sign reads, "We look forward to seeing you again soon," but advises customers in the meantime to visit the Westmont and Naperville outlets — a reach from the corner of Fullerton and Clark Street.

The company did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment.

Standard Market Grill took part in the Lincoln Park Chamber of Commerce's Cravings on Clark Restaurant Crawl just in June.

Aiming for a "sophisticated yet casual environment," Standard Market Grill attempts to bring a farm-to-table approach to a menu based on burgers, pizza and sandwiches.
