CHICAGO — A man fired shots at police officers and led them on a chase on the North Side on Sunday night, police said.
At 11:24 p.m., officers were near Grand and Harlem avenues in Montclare when they saw a man in a silver-colored Totoya driving erratically, police said. The man turned east onto Grand Avenue and fired shots in the direction of the officers.
The officers chased the man to Ashland and Fullerton avenues in Lincoln Park, where the man crashed into a pole while trying to turn, police said. The man was arrested and taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
An officer was injured at the scene of the crash and was treated and released from a hospital, police said.
Charges were pending.
