Thief Broke Into 5 Businesses In Brighton Park, West Lawn, Police Say

BRIGHTON PARK — A thief has been breaking into Southwest Side businesses and stealing from their registers, according to police.

At least five businesses in the area have been hit by the robber since Thursday, police said in a community alert issued Monday. Four of the incidents happened Saturday, according to police.

In the incidents, the thief removed the businesses' front-door lock, broke into the stores and stole money from the register, police said.

The incidents happened at:

• 6:15 a.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of South Archer Avenue in Brighton Park

• 1 a.m. Saturday in the 5900 block of South Pulaski Road in West Lawn

• 4:38 a.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of West 63rd Street in West Lawn

• 10 a.m. Saturday in the 3000 bock of West 47th Street in Brighton Park

• 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 5700 block of South Pulaski Road in West Elsdon

Police said the man was last seen wearing a baseball hat and glasses, police said.
