CHICAGO — A man died after hitting an electrified Red Line rail early Sunday, officials said.
At 5:56 a.m., the man was in the 100 block of North State Street near the Washington Red Line stop when he came in contact with the electrified rail, officials said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Trains were rerouted for a time but have returned to normal service.
Normal service on the Red Line has resumed after an earlier medical emergency on the tracks at Washington.
